BOSTON -- Jon Lester just wants to put up impressive numbers on the mound. Authentic Jacob Markstrom Jersey . He will worry about the figures on his next contract later. Red Sox fans showed appreciation for his latest brilliant outing with loud applause as he walked to the dugout after his eighth and final inning Sunday. "I hope people are more pleased with how Im pitching and not how Im handling contract stuff," the All-Star left-hander said after a 6-0 win that gave Boston a three-game sweep over the Kansas City Royals. Lester, who can become a free agent after the season, allowed no earned runs for the third time in four starts. He struck out eight and gave up two walks and four hits. Only one Royals player reached third base. Clearly, he hasnt let the uncertainty over where he will be pitching next season hurt his pitching this season. "Hes been a model for others to witness as players get to that stage of their career," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "Hes been able to handle it, I think, in a professional manner." Lester (10-7) is 4-0 with a 0.85 ERA over his last seven starts with 47 strikeouts and eight walks in a span of 52 2-3 innings. He has yielded just one earned run in 31 innings. "Youve got to take each one as an individual," Lester said. "If Im out there thinking about what I did last time, Im not worried about the right things." Lester extended his scoreless streak to 14 innings before Junichi Tazawa got the first out of the ninth. Edward Mujica retired the next two batters. "We matched up against an All-Star pitcher today and he was on top of his game," Royals manager Ned Yost said. Yordano Ventura (7-8) gave up all six runs. The first scored on Dustin Pedroias forceout at second base in the first, Daniel Nava hit a two-run double in the third, and Boston added three in the fourth on David Ross two-run homer and Navas sacrifice fly. That was more than enough support for Lester as he keeps building a case for a lucrative contract. "If these guys are happy with the way Im throwing and how Im going about my business, then thats all I care about," he said. "The other stuff will take care of itself when the right time comes." Boston entered the game in last place in the AL East, percentage points behind Tampa Bay, but won for the seventh time in eight games. Kansas City went scoreless after losing 2-1 Saturday night. The Royals have lost nine of 12, are 9-17 since a 10-game winning streak, and have scored less than two runs in four of their last six games. They open a three-game series at the Chicago White Sox on Monday night. "You basically just shake it off and get right back out there," designated hitter Billy Butler said. "We faced a tough left-hander today and it doesnt get any easier. We face Chris Sale tomorrow." The Royals put runners at first and second in the first when Eric Hosmer was hit by a pitch with two outs, and Danny Valencia singled. But Alex Gordon flied to left. Alcides Escobar was left on base after a one-out single in the second, and Lester retired eight consecutive batters before Escobar led off the fifth with a double. He reached third on a one-out groundout, but the threat ended when Lorenzo Cain flied out, leaving him hitless in 22 at bats. Hosmer singled with one out in the sixth to extend his hitting streak to 16 games. After Valencia struck out, Gordon drew a walk, the first issued by Lester in three starts. But Butler grounded out. Cain walked leading off the eighth, but Lester finished his outing by getting Omar Infante to ground into a double play before fanning Hosmer. "Jon Lester did a really nice job of holding us down," Yost said, "mixed in his curveball effectively, spotted his fastball well and used his cutter really well." Brock Holt scored Bostons first run after he and Nava singled. Navas double in the third came after a walk to Ross and a single by Jackie Bradley Jr. In the fourth, Shane Victorino doubled and scored on Ross sixth homer. Navas sacrifice fly drove in Bradley, who had singled. NOTES: Boston 1B Mike Napoli had the day off after hitting the go-ahead solo homer in the sixth inning Saturday. ... SS Escobar made an error in each of the three games. ... Jeremy Guthrie (5-8) pitches for Kansas City against Sale (8-1) on Monday night. John Lackey (9-4) takes the mound for Boston against Drew Hutchison (6-8) when the Red Sox start a four-game series at Toronto. Authentic Jake Virtanen Jersey . The top-ranked Djokovic also beat Gael Monfils and then routed Roger Federer en route to his first Abu Dhabi title. "Its always great to win a title. This is the best way to start the 2012 season," Djokovic said. Vancouver Canucks Winter Classic Jerseys .5 million, four-year contract with the Texas Rangers that could be worth $32. http://www.cheapcanucksjerseysauthentic....ure-jersey . Head coach Randy Carlyle confirmed the news after the Leafs morning skate on Monday. Kozun was hurt during Friday nights home game against the Red Wings and did not make the return trip to Detroit for Saturdays game.A night ago, the Winnipeg Goldeyes relied on their deep batting order to score 18 runs. Friday night, the Goldeyes relied on their deep pitching staff to allow just one run. Four pitchers combined to lead the Goldeyes to a 4-1 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks before 5,227 fans at Newman Outdoor Field on Independence Day in America. The win stretches Winnipegs lead to eight games in the American Associations North Division over the RedHawks. The Goldeyes have also won nine in a row and 13 of their last 15 games. Luis Alen opened the scoring for Winnipeg when he singled in Donnie Webb from second in the top of the fourth inning to give the Goldeyes a 1-0 lead. After Goldeyes starter Matt Jackson struck out Ronnie Bourquin looking with runners on the corners in the bottom of the fourth, Casey Haerther hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth to double Winnipegs lead. It was Haerthers third home run in his last six games. Jackson struck out Brandon Newton in a steady rain to end the fifth, but from there the game was delayed by 1:09 due to the rain. Following a scoreless sixth inning, the RedHawks finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning. C.J. Retherford drew a walk and subsequently went to third on a double by Ronnie Bourquin. Kaohi Downing came in from Winnipegs bullpen in relief of Jackson and Fargo catcher Petey Paramore hit at the first pitch he saw for a single to score Retherford. However, a great thrown by Donnie Webb from right field beat Bourquin to home plate by 10 feet and kept Winnipeg in front. Brendan Lafferty came in for the final two outs of the bottom of the seventh, including a strikeout of Anthony Kaskadden with runners on first and second to end the threat. Authentic Markus Granlund Jersey. In the top of the eighth, the Goldeyes gave themselves a cushion with RBI singles from Brock Bond and Alen. The lead could have been even bigger, but Webb, who led off with a walk, was caught stealing at second. It didnt matter though, as Lafferty struck out three more in the bottom of the eighth and Chris Kissock pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to earn his 11th save of the season. Its also Kissocks sixth save in his last seven outings. Jackson picked up the win for the Goldeyes for his league-best seventh victory of the season. Fargo starter Curtis Camilli suffered the loss in his RedHawks debut. At the plate, Haerther increased his lead in the leagues batting race by going three-for-four to up his batting average to .416 on the season. Alen added two RBI. The second game of the series goes Saturday night in Fargo. Winnipeg will send Chandler Barnard (2-0, 2.29) to the mound against the RedHawks Jake Laber (6-2, 4.10). Coverage on Jewel 101 (100.7 FM) will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Around the Association, followed by the pre-game show at 5:30 p.m. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. Tickets for all 2014 Winnipeg Goldeyes games and the 2014 American Association All-Star Game are available through Ticketmaster by clicking on Goldeyes.com, calling 1-855-GOLDEYE or visiting any Ticketmaster location, including the Shaw Park box office. MUNICH - Uli Hoeness wont appeal against his prison sentence for tax evasion, and said on Friday hes quitting as president of Bayern Munich to prevent damage to the European champions. Mariners Justin Grimm Jersey . Hoeness, one of the most prominent figures in German football, was convicted on Thursday of evading millions of euros (dollars) in tax through an undeclared bank account and sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison. The verdict drew a largely positive response in a country where tax evasion is deeply and increasingly frowned upon. Hoeness lawyer initially said he would file an appeal. Hoeness, however, said in a brief statement posted on Bayerns website on Friday that he decided after talking with his family to accept the verdict. "This corresponds with my personal understanding of decency, attitude and personal responsibility," he wrote. "Tax evasion was the mistake of my life. I am facing up to the consequences of this mistake." Hoeness said he was stepping down immediately as club president and as the chairman of Bayerns supervisory board. He said he wanted "to prevent damage to my club." "Bayern Munich is my lifes work and it will always remain so," he said. "I will remain linked with this great club and its people in other ways as long as I live." Hoeness thanked Bayern supporters and his friends for their support. The club stood by him through the investigation. Bayern won the treble of Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup last season and could repeat that feat this season. As a player, Hoeness was a Bayern star who won the 1972 European Championship and the 1974 World Cup with West Germany and three straight European Cups — the predecessor of the Champions League — before retiring in 1979 with chronic knee problems. Under his guidance as general manager, Bayern built financial reserves rarely seen in debt-ridden European football. Mariners Edwin Diaz Jersey . Jeff Green and Jordan Crawford each scored 19 points, Bass added 15 points and had a game-saving block in the closing seconds Saturday, and the Celtics held on for a 103-100 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mariners Edgar Martinez Jersey . "First, I would like to offer my deepest and sincerest apologies for any harm I have inflicted on University of Missouri defensive lineman, Michael Sam," the statement read. http://www.cheapmarinersjerseysauthentic...rez-jersey . -- The Tampa Bay Lightning are disappointed, though not discouraged. TORONTO -- Serena Williams insists its not as easy as it looks. The top-seeded American breezed to her third Rogers Cup title with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over unseeded Romanian Sorana Cirstea in Sundays final, giving Williams her eighth WTA title of the year and 54th of her career. She didnt drop a set all week at the $2.369-million tournament and lost only 22 games, almost half of which came against third-seed Agnieszka Radwanska in a semifinal match which proved to be the only real test for the world No. 1 in Toronto. With the absence of top-five players Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka, and the early exit of Wimbledon champ Marion Bartoli, all due to injury, Williamss path to the title was made considerably less obstructed. But with expectation comes pressure, and Williams proved more than up to the task. "No tournament is ever easy, especially being in the position I am in," said Williams. "The tournament starts and they expect you to win. And the tournament is like, youre going to be in the final and after your semifinal I want you to do this, and you have to do this and this press. Who knows if Ill even make it to the semifinals? "Its a lot of pressure. Its not easy." Williams says she likes where her game it as heading towards the U.S Open, where she is the defending champion, and shell look to use this victory as momentum this week in Cincinnati. Despite only having lost one match since March, a stunning early exit at Wimbledon, Williams says theres still room for improvement. "For me its always about constantly improving and never saying I did great and I can be satisfied," she said. "I did great (today), but what can I do better? What can I improve on? Thats what I always strive for. "When I get satisfied, and for a lot of players, the (playing) level goes down." Cirstea, meanwhile, had a breakthrough tournament, having ousted two former world No. 1s in Jelena Jankovic and Caroline Wozniacki before dethroning defending champion Petra Kvitova in the quarters, then fourth-seed Li Na of China in the semifinals. She was appearing in only her third WTA final and looking to build on her only title, won way back in 2008 at Tashkent. "For me its been a really positive week and Im going to take everything that well to the next tournament," said Cirstea. Cirstea showed her nerves from the opening game, double faulting the first point and again at 30-40 to give Williams an early break. Williams broke again for 3-0 after Cirstea sent a backhand wide. That prompted a visit from her Australian coach Darren Cahilll, who gave the 23-year-old a pep talk. Seattle Mariners Jerseys Cheap. It appeared to work momentarily as Cirstea won four straight points to break back and held serve at 3-2 to get back in the match. But Williams quickly removed any chance of an upset, winning two straight games and acing a set point winner for 6-2. "The start was not as bad as the scored showed," said Cirstea. "The first three games I had really good chances so I could have been up three-love. Suddenly I found myself down three-love. I know the score seems quite tough but there were moments when I felt the match was closer than it seemed." With shouts of "Sorana" and "Serena" volleying back and forth around the stadium like tennis balls, splashes of Romanias blue, yellow and red could be seen dotting the almost-full Rexall Centre stands on a warm, sunny afternoon. "I was surprised to see how many Romanians there were out there and how many flags Ive seen," said Cirstea. "It was an incredible atmosphere and it made me feel like home when they were screaming, supporting me and saying positive things. Im looking forward to coming back here." The vocal contingent cheering on Cirstea didnt have much to go on in the second set. Williams broke out of the gate using her trademark power strokes to keep Cirstea running and ripped a 199 km/h ace to hold serve at 2-0. Cirstea, with her head hanging low, again called over Cahill for motivation, but it did little this time as Williams eased through the final four games and wrapped up the match in just over an hour. Williams gets $426,000 for the win while Cirstea will take home $213,000 -- almost half her prize money earned so far this year. Cirstea teared up during the trophy presentation and graciously expressed her admiration for Williams. "Usually Im quite emotional," said the Romanian. "Of course I was disapointed because I wanted to play better, so its mixed feelings out there. I think even if I won today I would still be crying." All three of Williamss Rogers Cup titles have come in Toronto, the first in 2001 before winning it again in 2011. She says she loves playing in this city because of the friends who come out to see her play. Local hip-hop star Drake, who was also present for her 2011 win, sat courtside and cheered on Williams. "Were really good friends," said Williams, "I was excited that he made it today." In the doubles final, Jankovic and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia won 5-7, 6-2, 10-6 over Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany and Czech Kveta Peschke. NEW YORK -- When the ball went up, Brian McCann thought it was the second out of the inning. Sam Darnold Jersey . And when it came down, the Yankees had a three-game sweep. Jacoby Ellsbury got four hits and scored the winning run in the ninth on McCanns pop-fly single that dropped near three Cincinnati Reds in shallow right field, giving New York a 3-2 victory Sunday. "Ill take it, for sure," McCann said with a laugh. "I saw that everybody was looking at each other. So there was a chance, and luckily for us it fell." Ellsbury and Derek Jeter each had an RBI single in the fifth inning for the Yankees. Hiroki Kuroda outpitched Cincinnati ace Johnny Cueto and left with a 2-1 lead before Todd Fraziers tying homer off Dellin Betances in the eighth. Ellsbury also stole two bases and made a sliding catch in centre field that saved a run. "He can do anything on the baseball field. He showed all his tools today. He does this on a nightly basis," McCann said. Ellsbury reached safely all five times up, including a leadoff single in the ninth against Aroldis Chapman (0-3). Before that, left-handed hitters had been 1 for 18 with 12 strikeouts against the hard-throwing Cuban this season. Ellsbury got a great jump and swiped second without a throw. He reached third on a wild pitch before Chapman struck out Mark Teixeira with a 101 mph fastball. McCann, another left-handed batter, lifted a popup that barely reached the outfield grass behind first base. But with the infield playing in, Frazier and second baseman Skip Schumaker scurried back trying to get under the ball as Jay Bruce rushed in from right field. "It is anybodys ball," Frazier said. "If you can get to it, it is your ball." All three appeared to have a hard time finding it in the air, however, and the ball landed untouched. Ellsbury alertly saw what was happening and dashed home easily as McCann stood on first base with his arms raised. "You dont see that too often," Ellsbury said. "Its just a read that you have to make pretty quick." Chapman stared out toward shallow right field, where Frazier, Schumaker and Bruce were practically frozen in disbelief. "Just one of those things -- I thought I was under it and I was not," Frazier said. "By the time the ball was coming down it was already too late so, I made a mistake, turned my body the wrong way and, one of those things where I should have caught it." Centre fielder Billy Hamilton had trouble with the sun earlier, allowing Ellsburys seventh-inning fly to fall for a double. David Robertson (1-2) pitched a perfect ninth. It was New Yorks second walk-off win this season and the fifth game-ending hit for McCann -- his first since a home run for Atlanta against Houston on May 17, 2011. The 39-year-old Kuroda gave up three hits and no earned runs over 6 2-3 innings in his 200th major league appearance. "He was great," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Did a wonderful job today." After losing their sixth straight road game, a season high, the Reds are 2-5 without injured sluggers Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips. Cueto threw 112 pitches in five innings, matching his shortest start this season. "I felt really strong today," he said through a translator. "I would have kept going even with the amount of pitches I had." Frazier won a matchup of All-Stars when he lofted Betances full-count pitch into the left-field corner, just beyond the 318-foot sign. It was the first home run at Yankee Stadium for Frazier, who grew up about 85 miles away in Toms River, New Jersey. He pumped his fists at home plate and received hearty high-fives in the dugout. Betances has allowed two homers in 58 1-3 innings this season. "I think we were all a little bit shocked when it happened," Girardi said. Moments earlier, Schumaker made a costly baserunning mistake. He singled to start the inning and, with Frazier at the plate, took off trying to steal second before Betances began his delivery. The big right-hander stepped off the rubber, and Schumaker was tagged out after a long rundown. Schumaker, just off the seven-day concussion disabled list, had an RBI double with two outs in the fifth. It was Cincinnatis only hit in 22 at-bats with runners in scoring position during the series. "They just outplayed us," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "Some of the things that happened in the series (were) unfortunate." NOTES: Frazier, an All-Star third baseman this season, made his eighth start of the year at first and robbed Teixeira of a first-inning hit with a diving stop at the bag. ... Cincinnati is 3-8 in interleague games. ... Yankees RF Ichiro Suzuki snapped an 0-for-18 slump with a sixth-inning single. ... New York rookie Shane Greene (2-0, 1.32 ERA) starts Monday night against Texas RHP Miles Mikolas (0-2, 10.05). ... Mariano Riveras son, drafted by the Yankees in the 29th round last month, did not sign with the team before Fridays deadline. Mariano Rivera III was a sophomore starting pitcher at Iona last season. Avery Williamson Jersey . -- Mixed martial arts fighter Cristiane Justino Santos has been suspended and fined for testing positive for steroids. Terrence Brooks Jersey . The rest of the team was already on the field stretching before batting practice while Puig was getting dressed in the clubhouse. He had been slated to start in right field for the afternoon game against the San Francisco Giants, who beat the Dodgers 8-4. http://www.cheapjetsjerseysonline.com/?t...sey-online . - Justin Turner is at his best with runners in scoring position, and he delivered again in a big spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers. CHICAGO -- Roman Josi and Nashvilles dangerous defencemen did it all against the Chicago Blackhawks. That is why Pekka Rinne believes the blue-liners are the biggest key for a strong finish to the Predators disappointing season. Josi had three assists, and Ryan Ellis scored in the third period to lead the Predators to a 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks on Friday night. "If we win or lose, usually its the D-men," said Rinne, who made with 31 saves. "The talent we have on the back end, were pretty fortunate to have that kind of depth in the defence." Shea Weber also had his team-best 27th assist as Nashvilles defencemen combined for five points in the Predators third consecutive win. Weber also leads the team with 43 points, and Josi jumped into a tie with Patric Hornqvist for second on the team with 21 assists. "Thats the strength really of our group, our D-men," coach Barry Trotz said. "Theyre all young and talented. Were the youngest team in the league by three years on the blue line. The future is really bright for us there. Now weve got to work on trying to get those elite forwards like the Blackhawks have." It was the second straight loss for Chicago, which is struggling to keep up with the top contenders in the rugged Western Conference. The reigning Stanley Cup champions dropped to 10-8-7 in 2014. Jonathan Toews and Peter Regin scored for the Blackhawks, and Corey Crawford made 26 saves in his 200th NHL game. "Were putting ourself in tough situations by not starting well and getting away from our team game," Toews said. "Not much of an explanation, but we know we need better right now. We need to get out of this trend were in right now." Mike Fisher and Hornqvist also scored for Nashville, which has won two of three against Chicago this season. Ellis fourth goal of the season came right after the Predators killed a holding penalty on the defenceman that carried over into the third. He jumped out of the box, got a long pass from Josi and beat Crawford on a breakaway to make it 3-1 just 45 seconds into the period. "I was just fortunate enough to time it right," Ellis said. "Josi made a great pplay with a blocked shot then a tape-to-tape pass through the zone. Charone Peake Jersey. " Regins tip-in got the Blackhawks within one again at 11:28, but they were unable to tie it. Regins second goal with Chicago came after Toews sent a wide-open opportunity off the left post 4:40 into the third. Toews also had an open tip go wide with 36 seconds left. "We knew they were going to make a push," Josi said. "With that team theyve got a lot of skill, but Peks was great again." Chicago controlled the action at the start, but Nashville began to pressure Crawford midway through the first. Nick Spaling shot wide right on a prime opportunity with about 7 1/2 minutes left. Fisher put the Predators in front when he pushed a rebound over Crawfords left leg for his 17th goal at 15:33. Nashville used a big slap shot by Weber to open a 2-0 lead with 69 seconds left in the first. Crawford stopped the drive by the big defenceman, but Hornqvist swept in the rebound for his 13th. Crawford hopped up and slammed his stick down as the Predators celebrated Hornqvists first goal since March 4. "Tough to watch the last part of the first period," Chicago coach Joel Quenneville said. "I thought that was as bad as weve probably played for any stretch all year." The two-goal deficit seemed to wake up the Blackhawks for a bit. Toews stole the puck from Josi and passed it to Kris Versteeg, who passed it back to the captain for his 26th goal with 14 seconds remaining. Chicago carried the momentum into the second, but Rinne was there each time. He used his left pad to deny Patrick Sharp on a 1-on-1 opportunity, and he got some help from teammates when the Blackhawks had the puck in front during a power play at the end of the period. Crawford also used his glove to grab Craig Smiths shot with 5:46 left in the second. NOTES: Blackhawks F Marian Hossa (upper body) participated in the morning skate and is hoping to return Sunday at home against Detroit or Tuesday at Philadelphia. He has missed five games. ... Predators F Viktor Stalberg received a warm ovation when he was shown on the video board in the first period for helping Chicago win the Stanley Cup last season. Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork. Authentic Justin Williams Jersey .com) - Matt Ryan threw the deciding touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham late in the fourth quarter as Team Irvin edged Team Carter 32-28 in the 45th edition of the Pro Bowl. The all-star event utilized an unconferenced format for the second straight year, with Hall-of-Fame receivers Cris Carter and Michael Irvin shaping the rosters as alumni captains. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford got most of the work for Team Irvin, throwing for 316 yards and two touchdowns, including one of two caught by Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders. Stafford was named the games offensive MVP. Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the skill-position portion of the draft, threw a pair of first-quarter touchdown passes for Team Carter, and Drew Brees also tossed two scores in a losing effort. Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had an interception and a fumble recovery for Team Carter and was named the games defensive MVP. Among the slight rule changes for the exhibition was the narrowing of the goal posts from 18 to 14 feet across, and Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri missed two extra points and one of his three field goal attempts for the victors. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett opted to keep his offense on the field on 4th-and-goal from the 1 with his team trailing 28-25 with 3:14 remaining, and Graham made the decision pay off by hauling in Ryans quick pass on a slant. Team Carter, coached by Baltimores John Harbaugh, reached the opposing 19- yard line before Andy Daltons fourth-down pass toward the end zone fell incomplete. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo led Irvins team to a field goal in his only possession under center, and Luck capped his two drives with touchdown passes -- the first a 17-yard toss to Greg Olsen, the second a 14-yard strike to Colts teammate T.Y. Hilton. Stafford threw a 10-yard TD pass to Sanders between Lucks two scores, then hit Graham on a 6-yard fade in the right corner of the end zone. The Saints tight end celebrated with by dunking the ball over the goal post. Jordy Nelsons 21-yard touchdown catch from Brees gave Team Carter a 20-19 lead at halftime, and Brees opened the third quarter with a 10-yard score to Olsen. Brees hooked up with Hilton on the two-point conversion for a 28-19 advantage. Ryan and Sanders got together for a short TD late in the third, and Vinatieri missed the ensuing extra point and a 38-yard try at the buzzer. Five Quick Thoughts for a Wednesday: 1. Anaheim Ducks Jerseys China . KAWHI LEONARD & DANNY GREEN (Spurs): 44 points combined on 17-21 shooting in Game 3. Both were very assertive and set the tone in the first quarter.  Brilliant! When these guys are playing the two-way game, the Spurs are a force. Wow. 2. D-WADE & LEBRON (Heat):  Combined for 44 points but 12 turnovers combined is not going to cut it. Wade, in particular, was ineffective in the first half, leading to the Spurs blow out. LeBron was terrific in the first and faded after that. They need lots more support, yet these guys are capable of being more impactful and in particular more efficient. Their sloppy/careless play fed the Spurs rout. They need better than that. 3. DEREK FISHER (Knicks): Not surprised by his aftermath of Steve Kerr going to the Warriors. Hell have Phil Jacksons full support. Now its about fixing the roster and figuring out Carmelo Anthonys status.  My one recommendation would be to hire experienced pro coaches who can help him in the transition from player to head coach. Phil Jackson was always smart to have veteran guys like Tex Winter and Johnny Bach with him. Job is tougher than it looks. Having older guys with lots of wisdom that arent angling for your job really helps when times get tough. Need folks that tell you what you need to hear.      4. BORIS DIAW (Spurs): Great move to start him in Game 3.  Tony Parker looks like hes playing hurt and doesnt have the same pop/burst in his game right now. Need more play making and a guy that moves the ball quickly to teammates. Diaws numbers are respectable at nine points and five rebounds along with three assists, yet he had lots of Gretzky Passes -- the critical pass that leads to THE pass (assist). Hes a wonderful passer with off-the-charts basketball IQ and when you put him out there its like having a second point guard on the floor. 5. HEAT DEFENCE:  Frist half was poor and overall giving up 111 points on 59 per cent shooting is a huge concern. Game 2 defense was sound but major slippage. Energy level was inept. Perimeter D and communication was surprisingly off kilter. Not typical of the Heat. Help and recovery and shot contests have to elevate. A shockingly poor performance for such a big stage. Lots to clean up. Ball pressure and compete level has to be back to form. Not as good a defensive team as past years yet not this bad. Expect to see much more focused group on Thursday. If not, theyre in huge trouble.  Pick it way up. Authentic Ben Street Jersey . With serious allegations of corruption monopolizing the news cycle leading into the World Cup, the last thing FIFA needed following the opening match of Brazil 2014 was for the global headlines to be dominated by the awarding of a mystery penalty which would alter the course of the contest. Red Sox Justin Haley Jersey . Too bad the refs vanishing spray, which was first introduced in tournament play at 2011s Copa América, is only effective on the grass. We were all left wondering when the football would finally be the focus. All those questions were answered by the Dutch dominance of the World Cup holders yesterday.  In the second half alone, Spain conceded twice as many goals as they did through seven matches en route to a first World Cup triumph in South Africa four-years ago. Then for an encore, Chile and Australia played out a highly spirited encounter.  Jorge Sampaolis team were very convincing, and certainly would have won over many new admirers, that one of South Americas less glamorous nations, would be the one which punches well above its weight class at Brazil 2014. With Groups C and D taking to the pitch Day 3 provides us with the only quadruple header of the tournament. Where armchair enthusiasts the world over are treated to the prospect of four matches over the course of 11 hours. Todays headliner without question is the rumble in the jungle, as the aptly named Arena da Amazonia plays host to Italy v England. With four World Cup triumphs already to their name, a record which is only bettered by Brazils five, if Italy is the preening peacock of European football, then England is its Hippopotamus. Rare, if ever, has the land of St. George got their heads above the waterline during World Cups. Quite coincidentally the last time that happened was at Italia 90, which was also the last time the two nations met at a World Cup.  Courtesy of Toto Schillacis late penalty, Italy prevailed 2-1 in the third-place playoff match. Through the entire history of World Cup quite remarkably, that meeting represents the only time the two nations have met at the tournament proper. They have though met in qualifying twice. The most recent time was for France 1998. Zolas superb strike at Wembley in February 1997 was the difference maker. The return fixture in Rome saw England claim a famous scoreless draw and with it top spot in the group.  The iconic image of England captain Paul Inces head swathed in a bloodied bandage typified Englands approach on the day. One which had the current England manager Roy Hodgson assisting Glen Hoddle, officially in the role of interpreter.  Hodgson was Inter Milans head coach at the time. When the World Cup Draw took place in Zurich early last December Manaus was chosen as the venue.  The Arena da Amazonia, built at a cost of $300M has been in the news for all the wrong reasons as four workers have died during its construction. Brazilian football legend come politician Romario has been outspoken in his criticism. Pictures emerging on Thursday of a sub-standard surface the latest setback for a stadium which will host four group stage games. With Buffon set to miss out due to an ankle injury which occurred in training yesterday, combined with Montolivo fracturing a leg May 31st, the psychological edge certainly goes to England. Not that Prandellis team will need extra motivation this evening - but the only European nation to retain a World Cup [1934, 1938] is still smarting from its inability to emerge from a weak group in South Africa. A tournament they went into as defending champions.  With soaring heat and intense humidity factoring, for England to stand any chance they will have to overcome the Achilles heel which has dogged them through the ages. Chasing shadows in the pursuit of a ball they surrender more casually than Andrea Pirlo completes successful passes. Based on statistical evidence and World Cup history, losing your first group stage game almost guarantees elimination.  Although Prandelli nor Hodgson would admit it, if the game finishes as it did in Rome back in fall 1997 neither of them will be too upset. Viso replaced the injured Canadian on Sunday in the opening practice for the Indianapolis 500 and its still unclear when the popular Hinchcliffe will turn his first laps on the famed 2.5-mile oval. Hinchcliffe, from Oakville, Ont., was injured Saturday in the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis when debris from Justin Wilsons car flew into the cockpit, striking Hinchcliffe in the head. He was taken away from the track on a stretcher, transported to a hospital and diagnosed with a concussion. He was hoping to be re-examined Sunday, but that never happened and now hes out until at least Tuesday. "Well have a better feeling then," team owner Michael Andretti said. "They just said rest and they dont want to see him again until Tuesday." Later, the team issued a statement saying that exam date has been scheduled. Traditionally, IndyCar drivers with concussions have missed a minimum of seven days off before being cleared to race. But series officials issued a statement Sunday night, saying concussions are handled on a case-by-case basis and that drivers with head injuries must pass an ImPACT test before theyre cleared to compete by series medical director Dr. Michael Olinger. If Olinger adheres to the strict timeline, though, Hinchcliffe would miss the only full week of Indy practice and might not be back in the No. 27 Honda until next weekend when the only two qualifying sessions will be held. Andretti brought in Viso, who hadnt even been in an IndyCar this season until completing 28 laps Sunday. Even Viso isnt sure what to expect next. He finished sixth on the speed charts with a fast lap of 222.105 mph. Twenty-four cars made it onto the track. Australias Will Power, who drives for Roger Penske, was the fastest of the 24 cars at 223.057 mph. Viso said he is pprepared to do whatever Andrettis team needs -- even if that means replacing Hinchcliffe for qualifying or in the May 25 race. Red Sox Jerseys China. "Its too early to know. It just happened yesterday and nobody knows how hes going to recover. It 100 per cent comes down to his recovery," the Venezuelan said. "First of all, I just wish James a quick recovery. If he takes a little bit longer and Im able to drive and do the job for him Im, of course, not disappointed with that. But for me, the most important thing is to understand that hes recovering fast." He has made six straight starts in the 500, including a career best fourth last year. Viso finished 18th in 2013, matching his best career finish at Indy. The team said Hinchcliffe did make a brief appearance at the track to meet with his crew and have lunch with his family. He also spoke briefly with Viso but did not take questions from reporters. For the popular Canadian driver, its already been a challenging season. He started second at Long Beach and Barber but has not finished higher than seventh in any of this seasons four races. He qualified 11th for Saturdays race, then wound up 20th after leaving with the head injury. In Hinchcliffes three previous IndyCar seasons, hes had 14 top-five finishes in 50 starts and won three races -- with all three coming last season. What everyone wants to know now is whether hell get a chance at a third straight top-nine qualifying run at Indianapolis? "He seems in good shape and hes going to recover fast," Viso said. Andretti Autosport has five cars, including NASCARs Kurt Busch, trying to qualify for the May 25 race. Ryan Hunter-Reay had the fastest car of the bunch, turning a lap of 222.134 on Sunday. Busch, who is trying to become the fourth driver to race 1,100 miles in one day, at Indianapolis and Charlotte, was 12th at 220.352. MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks have a slick new floor to play on this season. Angels Michael Hermosillo Jersey . Maybe a little too slick, it seems. Officials called off Friday nights preseason game between the Bucks and Toronto Raptors because of concerns about the condition of the floor. Officials stopped the game with 5:58 left in the first quarter after several players slipped and fell on the court surface. After about 20 minutes worth of discussion, an announcement was made over the arena public address system that the game would not be played. "It was really bad," Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan said. "I couldnt cut to get open. It wasnt the grip, it was just giving way when you try to cut. I was really scared. Amir Johnson and I fell on one play, and I tried to get up and I fell again." Raptors coach Dwane Casey said his players first expressed concern about the floor conditions during pregame warmups. "It felt like it was OK," Casey said. "Then I dont know what happened, but it was too dangerous. We had guys slipping and falling. The last thing we need is to have a guy injured slipping on the floor in a preseason game." NBA lead official Danny Crawford said he and the other officials determined the floor was unplayable. "We kept making eye contact out there and we saw the players were having issues with traction," Crawford said, in an interview with a pool reporter. "Then when we had a few guys go down, we figured we should have a conference. And both teams wanted not to continue the game." Although the Bradley Center also hosts hockey games, Crawford said that condensation wasnt the issue -- leading to questions about the finish of the court surface itself. The court issue comes at a sensitive time for the Bucks, who are making a push for public support to build a new arena. The cancellation announcement to fans was made by former Bucks player John McGlocklin, one of the teams announcers and co-founder of a local charity, the MACC Fund. Standing on the court, McGlocklin announced that anybody who had tickets to Fridays game could exchange them for tickets to a regular-season home game in November. He also invited fans to shoot baskets on the floor, and said that the evenings planned donation to the MACC Fund would be unaffected by the cancellation -- a sentiment that actually turned boos into cheers for the teams owner, former Sen. Herb Kohl, who was in the stands and stood up during the announcement. Bucks coach Larry Drew said he didnt expect it to be an issue going forward. The Bucks open the season on the road, and host their first regular-season home game Nov. 2 -- also against the Raptors. "I think its an isolated incident," Drew said. "Whatever the issue was, Im sure theyll take care of it." The Bucks recently unveiled their new floor for the 2013-14 season, with a retro look meant to evoke the teams former floor designed by artist Robert Indiana in the late 1970s. "Weve got one of the best-looking floors in the NBA," Bucks guard O.J. Mayo said. "Just tonight, it didnt work out for us. I think well definitely get it under control." The Bucks had played on the floor already, for one practice -- the team typically practices at a separate facility south of downtown -- and a preseason game. Mayo said there werent any issues in either of the teams previous outings on the floor. "It felt great," Mayo said. "We were pretty stoked about how the floor looked. It looks awesome." The Bucks were leading 14-9 when the game was stopped. It was the final preseason game for both teams. "I know that weve got some of the best guys in the world, people in the world, to get it figured out and get it fixed," Mayo said. "Itll be ready for opening night." Angels J. C. AUSTIN, Texas -- Charlie Strong left a Louisville program that needed to punch its way into the national spotlight for the Texas Longhorns, who live smack in the middle with their enormous wealth, swagger, political intrigue and championship expectations. John Brown Jersey . And thats just the off-the-field stuff. On the field, he inherits a team mired in mediocrity with a 30-21 record over the last four years, but still talented enough to come within 30 minutes of winning a share of the 2013 Big 12 title. Strong will be introduced as the Texas football coach Monday. In a statement released by the school Sunday, Strong said he was excited to be taking over one of the "premier programs" in the country. "Texas is one of those places that is always on your radar and a program anyone would dream of being a part of because you have a chance to compete on a national level every year," Strong said. "Its special because it has such great history, pride, tradition and passion for football." In the 53-year-old Strong -- the first black head coach of a mens program at Texas -- new athletic director Steve Patterson landed a coach whose teams went 23-3 the last two years, including a BCS bowl win over Florida and a blowout of Miami to end the 2013 season in the Russell Athletic Bowl. Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, who has the No. 1 Seminoles in Monday nights national title game, praised the hire. Fisher was previously considered a possible target for Texas and would have faced Strong in the ACC when Louisville moves to that league next season. "I think hes done a tremendous job at Louisville, turning those guys around," Fisher said Sunday. "I think Charlies an excellent coach." Strong succeeded at a school that had to fight its way onto the national radar even in the good years. At Texas, the bad years draw just as much attention as the good ones, and college football will be watching to see how well he can unite a powerhouse program with a discontented fan base aching to return to the national elite. And how quickly he can win a lot of games. Strongs predecessor did that. Over 16 years, Mack Brown had 158 victories, and in 2005 he won Texas first undisputed national title in 36 years. From 2000-09, Texas averaged more than 10 wins a season and played in four BCS bowls, winning three. That success helped spur unprecedented financial growth. Texas ranks as the wealthiest athletic program in the country. A partnership with ESPN created the Longhorn Network, a 20-year deal worth at least $300 million to the university. But for all its wealth, Texas has struggled to deliver a championship legacy that lives up its sense of grandeur. Brown won just two Big 12 titles, while his archrival across his northern border, Bob Stoops at Oklahoma, won eight. Texas lone national championship in 44 years pales in comparison to Alabamas three from 2009-12. And the recent drop-off that started with a 5-7 record in 2010 got ugly by the end. When Texas started last season 1-2, some Texas fans even booed a public service announcement from Brown encouraging donations to charities. The turmoil also exposed on a national level the political fighting that embroiled the university and attempts by some school officials and prominent supporters to push Brown out a year ago. For more than two years, university regents have been fighting over whether to fire school President Bill Powers, who had been a key ally of Brown. Some of the same regents also were involved in talks with Alabama coach Nick Sabans agent in January 2013 in efforts to coax Saban into coming to Austin. That Strong will be the first African-American head coach of a mens program at Texas is significant at a school that resisted integration in the 1950s and 60s and had college footballs last all-white national champion in 1969. "This is a historic day for The University of Texas and a historic hire for our football team," Powers said. Until 2010, Texas had a residence hall named after former law school professor William Stewart Simkins, a Confederate colonel who also was an early organizer of the Ku Klux Klan in Florida after the Civil War. Texas is still fighting legal battles over race. Only now the school wants to keep an affirmative action admissions policy that allows the school to consider race for some applicants. But former Texas womens track coach Bev Kearney, who was pressured to resign in 2013 after revelations of a relationship with one of her athletes, has filed a discrimination lawsuit against Texas, arguing race was a factor in her case. Kearney is black. In 2009, just before he was hired at Louisville, Strong complained that hed been passed over for another job in part because his wife is white. Strong said it was difficult to leave Louisville, the school that was willing to give him his first head coaching job. "They have been great to me and my family, and it was very hard to say goodbye," Strong said. "But they know this was an opportunity I couldnt pass up." Joe Flacco Jersey . For his efforts, Price was named best goalkeeper by the tournament directorate. Prices outstanding play is marred only by the extremely strong defensive play of Canadas top six defencemen; Shea Weber, Duncan Keith, Drew Doughty, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester.NEW YORK -- The Raptors ended their regular season by blowing a 21-point lead in a 95-92 loss to the New York Knicks Wednesday. But with playoffs on the horizon, Toronto is looking toward its next game. With a Chicago Bulls loss to the Charlotte Bobcats in overtime, the Raptors still landed the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Theyll open up their first post-season series since 2008 by hosting the sixth-seeded Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. "We know we can beat them. We beat them twice this year, and we beat em once without me playing. Were all excited," said all-star DeMar DeRozan, who played just 22 minutes in Wednesdays loss. New York (37-45) finished its disappointing season on a high note, with Cole Aldrich making the tie-breaking dunk with 1:23 left to cap off a four-game winning streak. J.R. Smith scored 30 points, and Aldrich finished with 13 points and 16 rebounds. "We held ourselves to huge expectations, had big shoes to fill. Unfortunately we didnt fill them like we wanted to," Smith said. "We just take that on the chin and use that for preparation for next year." Kyle Lowry scored 22 points in 26 minutes for the Raptors, who finished 48-34. "The mindset going in was to make sure our guys didnt get hurt and get some rest and we did that," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. The Knicks charged back to tie at 74 entering the fourth by outscoring the Raptors 30-17 in the third. The game became meaningless during the period when Charlotte finished off an overtime victory over Chicago, meaning the Raptors could do no worse than finish tied with the Bulls. Toronto owned the tiebreaker as a division champion. The Raptors were a team that wasnt expected to be in the playoffs. Instead, they replaced the Knicks as Atlantic Division champions. "This is huge. When I first got here that was one of my biggest goals, to get this team back to the playoffs and Im happy to be there," Lowry said. ";But, Im not satisfied. Chuck Clark Jersey. I want to make some noise and show that were a good team." Toronto won six of its final eight games. The only other loss was last Friday to the Knicks, a night before New York was eliminated from the post-season when it couldnt climb all the way out of the huge hole it dug with its dismal start. "The last month and a half, two months has been great for our ballclub to see them back playing like Knick basketball should be played," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said, "so Im excited about that." Smiths dunk tied it at 90, and he followed Aldrichs basket with a jumper to make it 94-90 with 21 seconds to go. Tyler Hansbrough scored while being fouled and the Knicks couldnt get the rebound after he missed the free throw. But Toronto eventually threw away an inbounds pass and Smith made one last free throw. The Knicks won without Carmelo Anthony, sidelined by a torn labrum in his right shoulder, and fellow starters Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton on the last game before changes could come. Woodson said before the game he believe hes the right coach for this team, but hasnt had a conversation with new president Phil Jackson yet about his future. Thats likely Jacksons first big decision, with another this summer if Anthony goes through with his plan to become a free agent. Lowry scored 17 in the first quarter, when the Raptors made 11 of 17 shots and led 28-21. Toronto quickly pushed the lead into double figures in the second, opening the period with an 11-2 burst that made it 39-23 on Dwight Buycks 3-pointer. Toronto went ahead by as much as 21 before taking a 57-44 lead into the break. Notes: The Knicks announced they had signed Lamar Odom before the game, giving Jackson the off-season to look at a player who thrived playing for him when Jackson coached the Lakers. Odom was a key member of the Lakers championship teams in 2009 and 2010, and the Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. GLENDALE, Ariz. Authentic Nikita Soshnikov Jersey . -- Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says centre Lyle Sendlein will be sidelined three weeks because of a calf injury. Sendlein hurt his left calf during the teams first practice in pads Monday. Ted Larsen will take Sendleins spot with the first team. Sendlein is one of two starters from last year on this seasons projected offensive line. Sendlein was an undrafted free agent out of Texas when Arizona signed him in 2007. He has started all 16 games in every season but one since 2008. He had 81 consecutive starts before missing the final five games of the 2012 season with a knee injury. Authentic Joe Mullen Jersey . He liked what he saw on Tuesday night. Not only did his team post a comeback 3-2 victory in a shootout over the Montreal Canadiens, but the rival Washington Capitals were beaten 5-1 in Buffalo. Authentic Al Macinnis Jersey . Onyshko, from Minnedosa, Man., will compete in artistic gymnastics while Hanet, from Kelowna, B.C., will compete in lawn bowling as a para-athlete. "It is exciting that our Canadian athletes are starting to arrive at the Games Village," said Chantal Petitclerc, Canadas Chef de Mission. http://www.cheapbluesjerseysauthentic.co...ger-jersey . "Yes, Id like to get them in," Detroits rookie manager said. "Mother Natures going to have a say in that." Sure enough, the Tigers had their game against the Kansas City Royals postponed because of rain on Thursday.EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Trying to learn and absorb the new West Coast offence being installed by new offensive co-ordinator Ben McAdoo, the New York Giants wrapped their final organized team activity Thursday before a three-day mini-camp next week. "Were showing progress there, slowly but steady," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "The guys were never in a system like this. But theyre doing a good job on a daily basis. "Every situation will be covered. It takes time when youre getting into a new situation of any kind." The Giants receivers welcome the changes. "Everyone is still learning," fourth-year receiver Jerrel Jernigan said. "Coach Ben is still giving everyone everything. I like the offence. It fits my game. Were going to spread the ball and give us a chance to get the ball in space. Then it lets you do the rest in your space." After two nondescript years with the Giants, catching three passes for 22 yards, Jernigan got the chance to start the final three games last seasons. In those games, Jernigan caught 20 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns. "All I needed was a chance to get some time on the field," said Jernigan, originally a third-round draft pick from Troy. "I remembered what it was like to play a whole game. Now everyone knows what I can do." Jernigan will look to offset the loss of Hakeem Nicks, who left as a free agent to sign with the Indianapolis Colts. Rueben Randle enters his third year with the Giants and he is coming off his best pro season, catching 41 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns. Randle, originally a second-round draft pick out of LSU, believes that the new offensive set with be a benefit to him. "It frees me up and lets me do the things I do best," Randle said. Authentic Joel Edmundson Jersey. "It takes a lot of things off my mind when I play. I can just go out and play football. Im going out there and focusing on what I can do. I dont feel like I have to go out there and prove myself now. Its just about learning about how he (McAdoo) wants things run, learning the new terminology. Even though were picking it up pretty well, we still have a lot to learn and a lot to work out." Odell Beckham Jr., the teams first-round draft pick this year from LSU, has been slowed by a sore hamstring that he declared to be "nothing at all." Beckham was limited in his work Thursday. "Its just being cautious," Beckham said. "Its nothing really to be worried about. Ill be ready for mini-camp next week." Beckham also likes the Giants offensive approach. "It absolutely gives each player a chance to make plays," Beckham said. "This offence will allow us to get out and make plays. Its exciting." "The system allows for the opportunity for the player to make some plays in open space," Coughlin said. "They have a good understanding of what is being asked of them." The Giants will conduct mini-camp next Tuesday through Thursday. NOTES: The only down moment to Thursdays workout was that veteran linebacker Jon Beason went down with an undisclosed foot injury. Beason was carted off the field by medical personnel. The extent of Beasons injury was not immediately determined. "We hope to get him out there (at mini-camp) next week, because hes obviously a big part of what we do. Hes smart and dependable and does a few things for us. ___ Online: AP NFL website: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale China Jerseys NFL Jerseys China Discount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots Jerseys Cheap Nike Jets Jerseys Cheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '

WASHINGTON -- Quincy Amarikwas goal in the 82nd minute lifted the Chicago Fire into a soggy 2-2 draw against D. Authentic Anthony Duclair Jersey .C. United on Saturday. Playing through a steady rain at RFK Stadium, United (0-2-1) extended its club-record winless streak in league play to 15 games dating to the 2013 season. Its the fifth-longest streak in MLS history. Jhon Kennedy Hurtado scored in the 27th minute for Chicago (0-1-3), which has ties in each of its last three matches after a season-opening loss. Fabian Espindola scored in the first half for United, and Perry Kitchen made it 2-1 when he scored his third career goal in the second half. United lost all three games against Chicago last season and have not beaten the Fire at home since 2012. The Fire grabbed a first-half lead off a Harrison Shipp corner kick for the second consecutive game. Hurtado found space in between two United defenders and headed home the cross for his first goal of the season and just his second since joining MLS in 2009. After failing to score in their opening two games of the season, United drew even when Espindola converted a left-footed shot in the 35th minute. D.C. earned the free kick after Eddie Johnson was tackled just outside the box. Nick DeLeon then stepped over the ball before heeling the free kick back to Espindola, who scored his first goal since coming over from the New York Red Bulls in the off-season. United took the lead in the 73rd minute when Kitchen cleaned up a scrum in front of the Chicago goal, slotting home Uniteds fourth chance after the ball bounced off Fire defenders and the goalpost. Chicago goalie Sean Johnson had six saves, including four in the first half. Authentic Markus Hannikainen Jersey . The Canadian Football Leagues all-time passing leader said he has not made a final decision, but he will discuss his future with Montreal Alouettes owner Bob Wetenhall on the weekend. Authentic Pierre-Luc Dubois Jersey . Grilli hasnt pitched since straining his left oblique in late April. A strong fastball. A big, bending curveball that can buckle hitters at the knees. Against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, Elias put the entire package together against one of the leagues strongest lineups.(SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames will look to make sure the New York Islanders wont start a winning streak on Thursday night. Calgary has two games left on its pre-Olympics schedule and both are on the road. After posting a perfect 5-0 mark on a homestand, the Flames began a three-game road trip on Tuesday in Montreal and lost a 2-0 decision. It was Calgarys fourth loss in a row on the road, dropping the club to 9-14-4 as the guest this season. The Flames, who were coming off sweeping their first five-game homestand since Feb. 7-15, 1997, were unable to solve Carey Price on Tuesday despite firing 27 shots at the Canadiens goaltender. After the teams combined for just nine shots in a scoreless first frame, the Flames found themselves with a 5-on-3 under five minutes into the second, but Calgary couldnt capitalize, as Price turned away all comers to keep the visitors off the board. Rene Bourque would later score with 3:45 left in the second period to give Montreal a 1-0 lead and the games only other goal was an empty-netter from David Desharnais in the closing seconds of regulation. "The turning point in the game was our 5-on-3 power play," Calgary head coach Bob Hartley said. "If we score, its a different game. We had a few good chances, but Price came up with some big saves." Reto Berra, starting between the pipes for the Flames in place of an injured Karri Ramo, stopped 25-of-26 shots in the setback. Ramo wont be able to play again before the Olympic break and Berra expects to get anotherr start tonight. Authentic Joonas Korpisalo Jersey. The Isles have fared very well against the Flames in recent years, winning three straight and five of the last six encounters in this series. New York has claimed the last three meetings on Long Island, including the most recent matchup on Dec. 29, 2011. The Islanders were suffering through an 0-4-1 slide before recording Tuesdays 1-0 victory in Washington. Andrew MacDonald scored the only goal of the game early in the third period to give the Isles their first win since beating the rival New York Rangers on Jan. 21. Evgeni Nabokov stopped all 22 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season. Nabokov helped the Isles kill off six Washington power-play chances in the game. New York went 0-for-5 with the man advantage. "Its a good win for our team," said Islanders coach Jack Capuano. "Were a desperate team and I thought our guys worked hard tonight right from the start. I thought we defended real well, we were structured tonight and guys played hard." Despite the win, the Isles still face an uphill battle to make the playoffs. The club is currently 14th out of 16 teams in the Eastern Conference and 10 points out of a postseason berth. New York is kicking off a five-game homestand on Thursday, although the club will only get to play the first two portions of the residency before the NHL goes on its break for the Winter Olympics. The Isles, who are 8-12-8 as the host, will welcome Colorado on Saturday in their final test before the two-week hiatus.
