COLUMBUS http://www.officialislanders.com/authent...kas-jersey , Ohio — Columbus Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella wants to believe his team has figured out its issues. They’ll be facing a team on Saturday night that really has its act together. The Blue Jackets (17-12-2) rebounded from two consecutive losses to start a season-high six-game homestand with a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. The Ducks (17-11-5) roll into Nationwide Arena after a come-from-behind 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night at home before preparing to embark on a six-game road trip.Article continues below ...“The road’s a different animal,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “You don’t go on the road thinking you’re going to score four or five goals a game. If we can stay with the mentality that we have to be a blue-collar hockey club and play a blue-collar game, we have enough skill in our lineup from our perspective to put pucks in the back of the net. “But we have to prevent the goals. That’s the most important thing for us as we go forward.”Anaheim has won nine of its last 11 games. In the Ducks’ last eight victories, they’ve trailed or been tied heading into the third period before rallying. They’re now 6-8-2 when trailing after two periods, the second-most wins of its kind in the NHL behind the Calgary Flames.“We’re a resilient group,” said Anaheim defenseman Brandon Montour, who contributed four points (one goal, three assists) in the win over Dallas. “Guys aren’t quitting until the game is over.” The Ducks were able to wipe out a deficit against the Stars thanks to the first career hat trick by Ondrej Kase. His third goal tied the score in the third period and sparked a four-goal finish for Anaheim.“He’s been a clutch goal scorer numerous times for our hockey club,” Carlyle said. “He’s been the energizer bunny. He’s that type of player that seems to hound the puck. Now he’s getting rewarded for the hard work he’s putting in.”On one of Kase’s goals, teammate Ryan Getzlaf was credited with his 900th career assist. He added another assist for 901, which is second in franchise history behind Teemu Selanne’s 988. Getzlaf leads the team this season in assists with 18 and points with 26.“Getz is a special player,” Carlyle said. “He’s a guy that play in a lot of different situations. A lot of our offense runs through him.”The Blue Jackets are similar to the Ducks in their ability to produce offense. Columbus ranks seventh in the NHL with 3.42 goals per game through 31 games, but its issue more times than not is keeping pucks out of the net. “The last couple of games Adam Pelech Jersey Womens , we’ve played really good defensively I think, so we know we can handle everybody defensively now and we can create a little bit of offense out of that,” Blue Jackets forward Lukas Sedlak said, according to the team’s website. “We know how we have to play, reloads, and when we check we’ll get those chances offensively.”The Blue Jackets began their homestand with a 4-0 loss to the Washington Capitals last Saturday and followed that up with a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday after blowing a third-period lead in the final minutes.“Now we need to just play the right way and stay consistent,” Tortorella said. “Is it always going to be dead on? No, but you need to turn it in to who you are.“Have we gotten there yet? No. But hopefully we get some success by playing the right way and they’ll start finding that’s what we are.” Twelve Blue Jackets players have at least 10 points. Left winger Artemi Panarin leads the team with 34 points and right winger Cam Atkinson has a point in 14 of the past 15 games (13 goals, 10 assists during that span).“We’re getting scoring from all four lines now,” Columbus right winger Josh Anderson said. “That’s a big part of our success. As soon as one line scores, it gets everybody going on the bench.” WASHINGTON (AP) In a game that didn’t feel much like the postseason, the Washington Capitals gave future playoff opponents fair warning about how they handle tight games.Outshot by a team eliminated from contention, Washington stayed close before tying it late and beating the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday night. Braden Holtby stopped 35 of 37 shots Thomas Hickey Jersey Womens , Lars Eller forced overtime and Evgeny Kuznetsov won it to push the Metropolitan Division-leading Capitals closer to their fourth consecutive playoff appearance.Even if it wasn’t the kind of showing the Capitals would like to have come playoff time, Eller’s goal with 1:50 left and Kuznetsov’s 38 seconds into overtime showed what they could do when it matters.”I think we play better when it’s close,” Holtby said. ”With our skill, I think it forces us to turn things on late in the game and I think guys take that as a challenge. That’s I think a reason why you can see us bring it to a next level to try and force the other team into feeling a bit of panic and open up space.”There was little panic in the Rangers, who were playing their first game with no playoff implications since 2004, and they turned that looseness into a 37-33 shot advantage. Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves and Kevin Hayes and Ryan Spooner scored, but New York lamented a defensive miscue on Eller’s goal that let the game slip away.”So frustrating,” Lundqvist said after his first game with no hope of playoffs in his NHL career. ”When you’re tied up that late after playing so hard and doing so many good things, it doesn’t matter where you are in the standings, you want to win games and sit in here and feel good about a win. They came back and got it. It bothers me.”After the Capitals came back and got two valuable points, they can clinch with help around the league or by picking up a point Friday at home against Carolina. There are lower expectations on Washington this year after back-to-back Presidents’ Trophies and second-round exits, but Holtby said making the playoffs was a goal at the start of the season. It’s within reach now.”It’s the first step on the way,” Eller said. ”We want to win our division and go into the playoffs on a high note.”Holtby looks like he could be heading into the playoffs on a high note after almost two months of struggles and a minor lower-body injury. He would have liked to stop Spooner’s third-period goal on a shot that beat him clean John Tavares Jersey , but with a question of whether Holtby or Philipp Grubauer will start, it helped that the 2016 Vezina Trophy winner finally looks like his normal self again.”I felt comfortable,” Holtby said. ”It’s something I’m not used to – not playing much. The stamina and such was a little different than I was used to, but it felt good to go out there and just get to work and play in a high-intensity game.”There are many more high-intensity games to come for the Capitals, who can soon exhale about making the playoffs and prepare for the next step.”The NHL how it is, it doesn’t really matter where you are in the standings,” Holtby said. ”The guys should be proud. We should be proud we’re in a position like that.”NOTES: Rangers assistant Lindy Ruff missed the game after hitting his head on the ice at practice Thursday. Coach Alain Vigneault said Ruff was hospitalized and diagnosed with a concussion but was in good spirits and expected to be back with the team in a few days. … F Shane Gersich, a 2014 fifth-round pick who signed with Washington last week after his season at North Dakota ended, made his NHL debut. … Pheonix Copley backed up Holtby because Grubauer felt a ”tweak” in the Capitals’ game at the Rangers on Tuesday, according to coach Barry Trotz.UP NEXTRangers: Return home to face the playoff-bound Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.Capitals: Host the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.—

The Anaheim Ducks are a team looking at big changes. Their struggles this season have raised questions about the security of players jobs Cale Makar Jersey Womens ,聽coaching and what the team will do next to snap their multi-game losing streak. One change they won't be making is moving out Ryan Kesler. In an effort to shake things up, the Anaheim Ducks might have looked at trading Ryan Kesler this season but, in the end, none of that matters. When asked about the potential of a trade, Kesler was quick to say he鈥檚 got no interest in waiving his no-move clause to facilitate a trade. The long-time Duck and one-time Vancouver Canuck has been an integral part of the team's success over the past few seasons. However, this season, he's been relatively unproductive. This after injury concerns had him doubtful to play in 2018-19 at all. With the Ducks on such a downward spiral, everyone's name has come up, including Keslers who has three years on his contract left after this season with an AAV of $6.675MM.advertising ESPN.comHe indicated to Craig Custance of The Athletic聽(subscription required), "I don鈥檛 want to go anywhere. I love my teammates. I have a family Riley Nash Jersey Womens , you take that into account. If we are going into a rebuild, I鈥檓 going to do my best to teach the kids how to be a pro and how to win."What This MeansSince Kesler is not game to go anywhere else, the Ducks will have to look at moving other pieces. This includes Jakob Silfverberg and聽players like Nick Ritchie or Brandon Montour, who are young but not viewed as a聽vital part of a future core.Should those players not go and the Ducks really want to make a major change, players like Rickard Rakell or Cam Fowler could be on the market.advertising Talk about your dramatic wins. The Minnesota Wild might not have a better win this season than their first, a 4-3 overtime decision Thursday night over the Chicago Blackhawks that featured a short-handed equalizer in the last 25 seconds of regulation and a game-winning breakaway goal from Jason Zucker.“If this is how the year is going to be, I won’t have any hair left at the end of it,” Minnesota coach Bruce Boudreau quipped.Article continues below ...With a two-point game in their pocket for the first time, the Wild try to push above .500 Saturday in a late-afternoon clash with the Carolina Hurricanes that finishes a three-game homestand.Minnesota (1-1-1) came into the game against Chicago looking for offense. The Wild found it, outshooting the Blackhawks 46-30 after being outshot 82-51 in the first two games. They finally sustained puck possession and drove play.Chicago goalie Cam Ward made a spate of outstanding saves that probably prevented Minnesota from scoring six or seven goals Martin Hanzal Jersey Womens , yet the Wild were in danger of losing again after Mikael Granlund took a holding minor at 18:43 of the third period. But Minnesota took advantage of the Blackhawks’ inability to maintain puck control. Eric Staal and Zack Parise pumped shots at Ward, who saved them both. However, defenseman Ryan Suter, who rarely ventures below the point on offense, got to the top of the blue paint and poked home a rebound to force overtime.“Just desperation … just trying to get to the net and help out,” Suter said.Zucker wrapped things up in overtime with his second goal of the night, capping one of the best games for anyone in the league during the first week-plus. He finished with three points, a plus-four plus-minus rating and put 10 shots on net.He was a prime reason why the Wild tied their fourth-highest shot total in a game and equaled their second-most shots on goal in a home game.“I wasn’t happy with how I played the first two games,” Zucker said. “I thought I had some good spurts. It just wasn’t good enough. I know the way I can play and tonight was much more like it. I think everybody would have said the same thing about the first two games.”While Minnesota found some footing, Carolina (3-0-1) has been on solid ground from the opener Anton Khudobin Jersey Womens , when it outshot the New York Islanders 46-20 but lost 2-1 in overtime. It has won three straight since then, including a 5-3 decision Tuesday night over Vancouver.Under first-year coach Rod Brind’Amour, the Hurricanes have found their scoring touch, registering 17 goals, the third-highest total through four games in franchise history.“We want to play that way offensively,” he said. “That’s the way we have to play. We have good talent, and we have to use it to our advantage. Now we have to get better at the other end. I think there’s a lot of room for improvement, which is a positive that we’re still finding ways to get wins.”

WASHINGTON – The Capitals might get a big piece of their offense back when they host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.Forward T.J. Oshie hopes to return to the Washington lineup after missing the past 11 games with an upper-body injury.“I’ve been hoping to play for a week http://www.goldenknightsshoponline.com/a...ith-jersey , so I’m hoping to play [Tuesday],” Oshie told NHL.com. “We’ll see what the training staff says, see what the doctors say, see what the coaches say, but today was a full [practice]. I passed all the tests I’ve got to pass.”Article continues below ...Oshie took part in a full practice Monday for the first time since he was injured on a hit from Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey on Nov. 14.The Capitals (17-9-3) are atop the Metropolitan Division and returning home after a 2-1 road trip. Coach Todd Reirden said Oshie could play Tuesday, which would provide a boost to the offense overall, but especially the power play.“He’s a special player in all aspects of the game, but certainly on the power play for us and in that diamond spot he does a really good job on the entries in terms of controlled entries,” Reirden told the Washington Post.“When we do have to dump pucks in, he is good at recoveries. His work ethic and instincts to be able to win puck battles, I just think it increases our whole intensity of how our power play recovers pucks.”Oshie has 14 points (nine goals William Karlsson Jersey , five assists) in 18 games this season, including one goal and two assists on the power play.Different players have stepped up as the Capitals went 9-2 in Oshie’s absence and Alex Ovechkin has been on a roll. He has 14 points (10 goals, four assists) in his past 11 games.Goalie Braden Holtby is 10-2-2 with a 2.11 goals-against average (GAA) and a .924 save percentage against the Red Wings, including the win on Nov. 23 when Washington defeated the visiting Red Wings 3-1.Ovechkin has 13 goals and 10 assists in 24 games against Detroit, including a goal and an assist last month.Capitals forward Tom Wilson will miss his third game in a row Tuesday with an upper-body injury. Reirden told reporters Wilson will hopefully resume skating later this week.Detroit (14-13-4) comes in off a 3-1 home win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.Goalie Jimmy Howard made a season-high 42 saves after sitting out the past two games.“Jimmy Howard is my favorite thing about this game,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill told NHL.com. “We weren’t good enough tonight. They outplayed us, and Jimmy gave us a chance to win the game.”Dennis Cholowski, Frans Nielsen and Dylan Larkin scored for Detroit, which has at least a point in five of its past seven games (4-2-1).The Red Wings went ahead 3-0 and held the lead, something they’d been having trouble with of late.“There have been a lot of blown two-goal leads, and one that was three goals Authentic Blake Wheeler Jersey , but tonight we did a better job of playing with a lead,” Howard told NHL.com. “We bent, but we didn’t break.”Coach Jeff Blashill declined to say who’ll be in goal against Washington.Howard is 4-3-3 with a 2.82 GAA and a .900 save percentage versus Washington. Jonathan Bernier is 4-5 with a 2.83 GAA and a .894 save percentage against the Capitals. Bernier took the loss in the teams’ first meeting. LOS ANGELES (AP) A strong power play and penalty kill can carry a team deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs. Right now, the Los Angeles Kings hope their special teams can do what it takes just to reach the postseason.Anze Kopitar scored one of his team’s three power-play goals, Jonathan Quick made 23 saves and the Kings moved back into playoff position with a 3-0 win over the Calgary Flames on Monday night.”Obviously, scoring three power-play goals goes a long way,” Kopitar said. ”I guess this time of year it doesn’t really matter how you do it but you’ve got to figure out ways to win, and we did that tonight.”Jeff Carter also scored and Dion Phaneuf had a goal and an assist for the Kings, who tied Anaheim for third place in the Pacific Division at 91 points. They also passed Colorado (90 points) and St. Louis (89) in the Western Conference wild-card race.Phaneuf gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 4:04 into the second period, scoring on a long shot from the blue line five seconds into a power play. All four of Phaneuf’s goals since being acquired from Ottawa in a Feb. 13 trade have come on the man advantage.Adrian Kempe got the lone assist for winning the faceoff against Troy Brouwer, and Tyler Toffoli set a screen that kept goalie Mike Smith from seeing Phaneuf’s shot.”The key on power play http://www.jetsshoppro.com/authentic-bry...tle-jersey , if you get people to the net and you get opportunities for lanes to the net and you shoot the puck early, it really forces the penalty killers to turn and face their net,” Kings coach John Stevens said. ”Once Dion shot the first one there, it really had a ripple effect where guys were looking to move the puck quick and get it to the net.”Kopitar made it 2-0 at 11:55 with his seventh power-play goal of the season. Scoring on a wrist shot from the left circle, Kopitar matched his career high of 34 goals during the 2009-10 season. The Kings captain has five goals in his last three games.Flames forward Sam Bennett committed three penalties in the opening 30:21, with his infractions for high-sticking and tripping leading to the Kings’ first two power-play goals.Carter put Los Angeles in front 3-0 by following up his own rebound from close range at 8:24 of the third. He has 10 goals in 16 games since returning from surgery to repair a cut tendon in his ankle.Los Angeles scored three power-play goals in a game for the third time.Smith stopped 26 shots for the Flames, who were eliminated from playoff contention. Calgary has been outscored 28-7 during a six-game losing streak.”It’s tough to create against LA at the best of times, but I thought we limited them. Again, 5-on-5, there weren’t many chances out there. Just the specialty teams came into play,” Flames coach Glen Gulutzan said.Already without forwards Sean Monahan and Matthew Tkachuk because of injury Womens Connor Hellebuyck Jersey , the depleted Flames had to play without top scorer Johnny Gaudreau, who was not with the team after his father had a cardiac event on Monday. The lack of scoring punch beyond those three, who have combined to score 78 of Calgary’s 203 goals, is something the Flames will have to address to get back into the playoff chase next season, Gulutzan said.”You can see that we’re a little bit dependent on some of our top guys to create most of our offense, and that’s an issue that is coming to light a little bit,” Gulutzan said.NOTES: Kings D Jake Muzzin did not return after sustaining an upper-body injury in the second period. (SportsNetwork. Cheap NFL Jerseys Free Shipping .com) - The Cincinnati Bengals have become experts at offensive storm-weathering. Their run game has collectively managed only 3.1 yards per carry over the last two games, with leading rusher Giovani Bernard gaining just 62 yards on 23 attempts. Meanwhile, No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Green has missed three consecutive games - and is questionable this week - with a toe injury. His prospects for Sunday against Jacksonville will depend on how much practice work he can handle. But amid the adversity, some jewels have been uncovered. The Bengals have seen No. 2 man Mohamed Sanu pick up the aerial slack in Greens absence, catching 18 balls for 299 yards while serving as quarterback Andy Daltons main target. He caught five passes for 125 yards last week against Baltimore, in a 27-24 win that ended 0-2-1 streak since a Week 4 bye. Mos been playing great, Dalton said. I have a lot of confidence in him, and he has a lot of confidence in himself that hes going to make plays. Dalton hasnt had a touchdown pass since the 37-37 tie with Carolina in Week 6, but hes got a chance to have both Sanu and Green in the lineup together against the Jaguars for the first time since Oct. 5. Its a prospect thats got Sanu sounding confident. Now its going to be that theyre going to have to play us straight-up, he said. They cant double-cover any one of us. Theyre going to have to play man-to-man. Thats what we want. It doesnt help Jacksonvilles cause that starting cornerback Alan Ball wont be available after he was placed on season-ending injured reserve. The Jaguars signed Tommie Campbell, who played 37 games with Tennessee from 2011 to 2013, as a roster-filler. Linebacker Paul Posluszny was lost for the season with a torn chest muscle a week earlier, and defensive end Andre Branch is out for several weeks with a groin injury. Jacksonville is winless in its last five road games with an average deficit of more than 17 points, while Cincinnati is 12-0-1 in its last 13 regular-season games at Paul Brown Stadium. We have to come back and truly attack these things, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said, because we cant continue in this fashion. The Jaguars have scored 14.8 points per game through seven games - worst in the NFL - while their weekly average of 306.6 yards per week is better than just two teams, winless Oakland and one-win Tampa Bay. Theyve turned the ball over 18 times to tie the one-win New York Jets for the leagues worst mark and the resulting minus-10 turnover differential is 31st among 32 teams. Cincinnati is plus-5 in that statistic, tied for sixth in the league. The quarterbacking era heralded by first-round rookie Blake Bortles has been more miss than hit, with the youngster tossing 12 interceptions in five-plus games since he took over for veteran Chad Henne. Two of the interceptions - and a lost fumble - came in a 27-13 defeat last week against Miami. Four of the interceptions have been brought back for touchdowns. Im not going to say Im mad at myself, because thats not really going to help anything, Bortles said. Nobody cares, and its not going to help me do anything. Youve just got to learn from it. Youve got to go figure it out, start watching film and find out what you can do to try to be better. On the plus side, Bortles may have a new gem in his arsenal, too. Former University of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has run for 127 and 108 yards in his last two games, catapulting him to the top spot among Jacksonvilles rushers in 2014 and becoming the first Jaguar to run for 100- plus in two straight games since Maurice Jones-Drew three years ago. Its nice to see the running game getting better, guard Brandon Linder said. Hes a talented athlete and a great team player. He brings it on every play and is very confident in the way he runs. Thats Denard. He makes things happen. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Two if by Air Presuming Green finds his way to the field on Sunday, itll create a matchup for he and red-hot teammate Sanu against the Jaguars cornerback tandem - minus the injured Ball - of Demetrius McCray and Dwayne Gratz. Their most recent test came last week against Miami, whose top threat, Mike Wallace, was limited to two catches and no other target had more than three. A Developing Situation The Jaguars drafted Robinson as a wide receiver after he was a quarterback with the Wolverines, but hes clearly found a niche as a runner. Cincinnati hasnt exactly been a collective run-stopping machine either, allowing at least 107 yards on the ground for five straight games after its first two foes in 2014 - Baltimore and Atlanta - accounted for 94 and 97, respectively. OVERALL ANALYSIS Robinsons a nice little story and the Bengals havent reached the level theyd presumably attained after going 3-0 in the seasons early stages, but its simply hard to imagine the Jaguars winning here. They dont travel well, they dont score much and their defense is inconveniently beaten up on the way to a visit to face a team thats got a number of potential difference-makers on offense. You need a bit of everything. You need Nordics too, Nordics are good.Speaking Thursday at a pre-match news conference ahead of Saturdays game with Lens, Sagnol tried to explain his comments. If by my lack of clarity, or my imperfect semantics, I may have shocked, humiliated or hurt people then I am sorry, Sagnol said. The interpretation that these people may have made does not reflect my way of thinking in any way or my humanist convictions. However, he said the comments made sense in a sporting context. When I spoke about the African (player) who is cheaper and ready for combat, I simply meant to talk about the young African player arriving in Europe with all of his will to win and often to escape from a precarious situation, Sagnol continued as he read from pre-prepared notes. Then, since we were in a debate about football, the intelligence I spoke of was obviously related to tactical intelligence. The forming of young players in Africa, probably because of a lack of financial means, or (lack) of infrastructure, isnt always as complete as whats available in Europe.Sagnol distanced himself from accusations that his viewpoint was offensive. In no way did I mean to talk about an individuals intelligence in the proper sense of the term. Cheap Jerseys Online. Regarding certain accusations of racism, Im 37 (and) Ive spent 32 of them in a football dressing room. Ive never had a problem with anyone, the former Bayern Munich player said. But Lens coach Antoine Kombouare, who was born in New Caledonia, is among those who felt offended by Sagnol.Lets make things clear: this is not a case of him being clumsy. Hes really messed up, Kombouare said. What he said is serious. Its unacceptable. Explaining that an African player is cheaper ... I felt humiliated and hurt. The International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA) strongly condemned Sagnol, as did former Marseille president Pape Diouf, who called for African players to boycott one round of French league games in protest.French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet, who formerly employed Sagnol as coach of Frances Under-21 side, defended him, while former teammate Lilian Thuram — an active anti-racism campaigner — was more measured.I played alongside Willy, hes somebody I respect. I know him very well, Thuram told Sud Ouest. I dont think you should put Willy Sagnol on trial, but you should put prejudice on trial. Each one of us harbours some prejudice, which is why people working in football, who have a certain exposure to the media, should be educated on this subject.Sagnols captain at Bordeaux is Senegal international Lamine Sane, who called Sagnols comments clumsy before defending him, as did club president Jean-Louis Triaud. He doesnt have any twisted ideas. He believes in all the black players in the team, Sane told French radio. We believe in him and we hope to go very far with him.Bordeaux forward Henri Saivet, who is black, told RMC radio that Sagnol apologized. We all now pertinently well that the coach is not a racist, Saivet said. Its true that, at first, we asked ourselves a few questions. But he explained how it happened. He apologized to the players. That was very important. ' ' '

BOSTON -- With both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook sitting out for the first time since the franchise set up shop in Oklahoma City, the Thunder needed about a half to figure things out. Wholesale NFL Jerseys Fast Shipping . And then the Western Conference leaders put the lottery-bound Boston Celtics away. "We take pride in playing hard no matter whos on the floor," coach Scott Brooks said after his team went on a 17-2 third-quarter run to beat Boston 101-83 on Friday night. "Obviously, were a better team with Kevin and Russell. But it doesnt make us not a team." Durant, the NBA scoring leader, missed his first game of the season, joining fellow All-Star Westbrook on the bench. That was only a minor setback, with Serge Ibaka scoring nine of his 21 points and adding five rebounds in the pivotal third quarter to lead Oklahoma City to its sixth straight victory. Jeremy Lamb came off the bench to score 19 points, and Reggie Jackson had 14 points and eight assists. "Everybodys just got to do their job a little bit better and a little bit harder," said Thunder centre Kendrick Perkins, a former Celtic, who had nine rebounds. "Its our first time playing without both of them, so it was good." Durant was the franchises first pick in 2007, its final year as the Seattle SuperSonics, and Westbrook was their first-round pick after the team moved to Oklahoma City for the following season. Together, they led the Thunder to the 2012 NBA Finals and were poised for another deep run last year before Westbrook was injured in the first round series against Houston. Oklahoma City has managed to stay atop the West with Westbrook out since Christmas to recover from right knee surgery. And Durant has been the reason, going on a scoring tear with at least 30 points in nine consecutive games before sitting out Friday night. But Durant watched this one from the bench in warmups, then was icing his right shoulder in the locker room after the game, joking around with Westbrook. "Theyre a good team without him -- as you can see," Celtics guard Phil Pressey said. Brooks said he did not know if his star would return on Saturday night against Philadelphia. "Well see how he wakes up," the coach said. Jeff Green scored 16 points and Gerald Wallace scored 12 of his 13 points in the first half, before the Thunder pulled away with a 17-2 run in the third quarter. Rajon Rondo had eight assists and five points in his fifth game since returning from reconstructive knee surgery. The Celtics have lost 13 of 15 games. "Theyre down Kevin Durant, and I think their team is thinking OK, this is an opportunity for a lot of guys that dont play as much when hes playing minutes," Celtics centre Kris Humphries said. "Something happened. You guys all saw the game. It wasnt great. Thanks for staying for the whole game." The Thunder allowed the Celtics to open a five-point lead early in the second quarter but then scored 18 of the next 22 points to take a nine-point lead. It was a two-point game after Boston scored the first basket of the second half, but Oklahoma City opened a 60-53 lead and then scored 17 of the next 19 points. In all, Oklahoma City outscored the Celtics 27-13 in the third. Notes: Rondo became the sixth player in Celtics history to reach the 4,000-assist plateau. Bill Russell is next, with 4,100. ... The Thunder have the best record in Western Conference and are 6-0 on the road against Eastern Conference teams. They will try to remain perfect Saturday at Philadelphia... Celtics F Jared Sullinger dislocated his right index finger in the first half but returned to the game. Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping . Subway workers in Rio de Janeiro, meanwhile, were holding an assembly to vote on whether they would strike to demand higher wages, threatening to disrupt transportation. Despite guiding the B.C. Lions to a sluggish 0-2 start to the CFL season — including an anaemic offensive performance in last weeks 24-9 road loss to the Montreal Alouettes — the clubs veteran quarterback is confident things will turn around soon. For a team that has designs on playing in the Grey Cup game set for its backyard, they better. "I wouldnt push the panic button just yet. Its a long season," Glenn said after Tuesdays practice. "There is a sense of urgency and I think everybody understands that around here just because of the nature of our profession. We dont have to panic. We just have to go make sure we understand whats going on and we go out and execute in the game." Starting in place of injured No. 1 quarterback Travis Lulay, Glenn has thrown six interceptions and has been sacked nine times through two games. Its a small sample size, but also a troubling trend for a team that has a new offensive co-ordinator, a new scheme and a rebuilt offensive line in 2014. "Theres no excuses around here," said Glenn. "Weve just got to believe in each other, believe in the systems and what were doing and just get this thing turned around." In truth, the Lions offence has been ravaged by injury early in the season, with both the receiving corps and line taking major personnel hits. B.C. head coach Mike Benevides is hoping to get receivers Marco Iannuzzi and Emmanuel Arceneaux back for Saturdays visit to Regina to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-1), but its clear everyone on the roster has to be better. "I think what it has come down to, and I have told the players this, is making plays," said Benevides. "Its different if we just cant get squat done. But theres points where theres a throw to be made into the end zone, lets make it. Theres an interception to be made, lets make it. Theres a ball on the ground ... lets all run to the ball and get the ball. "Every single one of us, and that includes us with the whistles, we just have to find ways to make some plays. We have go gain confidence and we have to get better right away because right now its not good enough at all." The offensive line lost three starters to retirement in the off-season and new starting left tackle Andre Ramsey went down to injury in the season opener. The Lions brought in Ryan Cave last week, but he was victimized by Montreals defence in the first half after taking part in just two practicees with his new teammates. NFL Jerseys Cheap. Still, Benevides said Glenn — who has just two touchdown passes to go along with a 58.5 per cent completion rate — has to make the right decisions in crucial moments. "Five sacks (against the Alouettes) are too much. The hits are too much. We have to fix that right away, but there are certain plays he has to make himself and he knows that," said Benevides. "Two weeks in a row there was a play to be made in the end zone without pressure, lets make that play. He knows that." In his first season with B.C. after being acquired at the CFL draft in a trade with the Ottawa Redblacks, Glenn has been through his share of ups and downs in his career and said the Lions are still a confident bunch. "Weve got a lot of guys here that believe in each other and I think thats the biggest thing," said the 35-year-old. "If you still have guys that believe in each other and know that its going to get done ... its going to get done." Answering questions about early-season struggles is something many of the Lions have had to deal with in the not-too-distant past. The 2011 team started 0-5 before rallying to not only make the playoffs, but win the Grey Cup at B.C. Place Stadium — the same field where the big game will be held in November. That doesnt mean they want to take the same route in 2014. "At the end of the day weve got a lot to build on. Our foundation is still solid and everybody still has confidence in the locker-room. We just have to apply it to the field," said veteran defensive back Ryan Phillips, before cautioning: "Everybody should be concerned to some degree. We cant go off the past and say weve been here before and things like that. "Our backs are against the wall right now and thats the reality of it. Youre only as good as your last game." On top of looking for their first victory of the season this weekend in what is sure to be a hostile environment in Regina, the Lions will take on a Roughriders team that ended their season in 2013 before capturing the Grey Cup. "We are pissed off, weve lost two in a row. They are going to play at home," said Benevides. "Its loud and its hard to play there. Our guys have done it before and challenged them really well. I really dont care about the opponent. Its about us performing better. "There is no need for any extra motivation right now. We suck. We havent won two games in a row and we have to win right away." Each week, The Reporters put their thumbs out to the good and the bad in the world of sports. Wholesale Vans Authentic . This week they discuss Russias mens hockey team, the ineptitude of the IOC handling the Nicklas Backstrom situation, John Tortorellas many apologies, and Canadas strong showing in curling. Bruce Arthur, National Post My thumb is down to Russias national mens hockey program, which is still making reverberations a week after Sochi. After falling in the quarter-finals for the second straight Olympics, Russias NHL stars came back angry. As Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review wrote, Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin were unhappy for many reasons, but most of all resented the programs bias towards KHL players, which greatly distorted playing time, pairings, strategy, and felt like a punishment to Russian stars who dont play at home. Russia was one of the worlds great hockey powers, and a worthy rival to Canada; now its a mess, riven by petty rivalries. Its a shame, really. The Russians havent won a best-on-best tournament since the 1981 Canada Cup, and somehow they feel further away than ever. Steve Simmons, SUN Media My thumb is down to the International Olympic Committee for the mess it made of the Nicklas Backstrom gold medal game allergy pill fiasco. As a member of Swedens hockey delegation said, the IOC destroyed one of the greatest days in Olympic hockey history for the country. Backstrom, who did test positive  for pseudo-ephedrine, didnt disagree with that assessment. The IOC first tested Backstrom last Wednesday. In the three days that followed, they never did do a second test. The Swedish team was not informed of Backstroms status until two hours before game time. Now dont get me wrong, the Swedes could have had Nicklas Backstrom, Ralph Backstrom, and all the Backstroms you can name available for the gold medal game and the result wouldnt have been different. What they didnt need was an unnecessary disruption, born of IOC ineptitude. Michael Farber, Sports Illustrated My thumb is down to John Tortorella, not for his most recent apology but for the continual need to apologize. This time, the Canucks coach launched into a mea culpa after saying he favored Sweden in the Sochi final because he wanted his Swedish Olympians - Daniel Sedin and Alex Edler - to return with smiles on their faces. Tortorella wears blinders. Professionally, he sees the small picture, nothing beyond his team. Belatedly, of course, he grasped context - Vancouver … Canada. So four weeks after apologizing for losing his mind between periods against Calgary, he again was at a microphone wearing a hair shirt and a tight expression. Thats Tortorella, the never-ending sorry. Dave Hodge, TSN My thumb is up to the excellence shown by Canadas Gold-medalists in curling - Jennifer Jones and her rink from Winnipeg and Brad Jacobs and his rink from Sault Ste. Marie. We used to take for granted Canadas worldwide dominance in curling, and then we didnt, because as good as the Canadians continued to be, several other countries showed they were capable of winning world titles. Not that Jones and Jacobs allow Canada to rest on its laurels, but the Sochi results were very impressive, and hows this for proof of Canadas wealth of curling talent - the Brier is underway in Kamloops and the field is strong with Jeff Stoughton, Kevin Koe, John Morris, and Brad Gushue. And imagine talking about a strong field that doesnt include Jacobs, Glenn Howard and Kevin Martin. SANTA CLARA, Calif. Ecco Shoes Sale Clearance . - An off-balance Colin Kaepernick improvised, threw across his body and across the field, finding Frank Gore open near the opposite sideline more than 20 yards away.Gore bailed out a broken play and helped get the San Francisco 49ers back on track with a big day.He caught that career-best 55-yard touchdown and ran for 119 yards in his first 100-yard game of 2014, leading San Francisco past Philadelphia 26-21 on Sunday to hand the Eagles their first loss.I dont think Ive ever had one quite like that, Kaepernick said. It was a great job by Frank.Great job by Kap, Gore offered, standing next to his quarterback on the postgame podium.Coach Jim Harbaugh didnt see Gore open and had no idea where Kaepernick was going on that play.Kap did a great job keeping his eyes up field. I had no idea. When he stopped, pulled it up and started to throw, I didnt know where he was going with the ball, Harbaugh said. The speed, the angle, the way he got into the end zone was something. I didnt think he was going to get it in.Regardless, the 49ers got Gore involved in the offence again, and it returned them to their winning ways. Hard-nosed defence helped, too.At least for one Sunday, it seems the Niners reclaimed their offensive identity and defensive swagger. The 49ers (2-2) avoided their first three-game losing streak under Harbaugh, containing the leagues top passer.Nick Foles threw two incomplete passes from the 1 in the waning moments after gaining six first downs on a lengthy drive, more than the five the Eagles managed before that.We just didnt execute, its as simple as that, Foles said. Im not going to break it down or anything.Foles completed a 22-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin on the right sideline on that late drive. The 49ers challenged whether he had possession, but the play stood, costing the 49ers their final timeout. The Eagles couldnt pull off the second-half magic that had carried them in their three wins.On a day the 49ers gave up big plays on special teams, Gore delivered. Kaepernick also threw a touchdown pass to Stevie Johnson and Phil Dawson kicked four field goals a€” two of at least 46 yards. Kaepernick finished 17 for 30 for 218 yards, two TDs and four sacks.Darren Sproles had a career-best 82-yard punt return for a touchdown, Malcolm Jenkins ran an interception 53 yards for a score for the Eagles (3-1). Brad Smith recovered Trey Burtons blocked punt against Andy Lee for a TD.The 49ers produced in the second half for the first time this season to give Harbaugh a win against former Pac-10 foe Chip Kelly.Antoine Bethea intercepted his first pass with the 49ers and forced a fumble, then the secondary kept the pressure on in the red zone. Perrish Cox made an interception with 41 seconds left to seal it.Gores score on the first play of the second quarter was the longest TD catch by a running back this season. It was an improvisational play, but thats one of his strengths, Eagles defensive co-ordinator Bill Davis said of Kaepernick. Its the skill set that he possesses. Hes able to make plays like that happen. But on San Franciscos next series, Kaepernick threw right to Jenkins and he broke three tackles on the way to the end zone. The 49ers won their first game at new Levis Stadium, where thousands of fans skipped out at halftime.San Francisco outgained the Eagles 232-73 in the first half, but still trailed 21-13. Then Johnson tiptoed both feet inbounds inside the left pylon in the third quarter for a 12-yard catch, the first second-half TD of the season for San Francisco after it had been outscored 52-3 after halftime in the first three games.Dawson kicked a 51-yarder before halftime, but the NFLs most-penalized team hurt itself with seven more flags for 60 yards in the first half and 10 total for 80 yards a€” but none on defence. The Eagles also had 10 penalties for 70.San Francisco right tackle Anthony Davis made his season debut but went down on the final play of the first quarter when Kaepernick took a sack right into the back of Davis left knee.Tight end Vernon Davis was sidelined with a back injury early in the third quarter and he was still experiencing spasms after the game, though an X-ray was negative. Davis missed last Sundays loss at Arizona with a hurting left ankle.Foles was 21 for 43 for 195 yards and two interceptions.NOTES: Foles missed a chance to join Peyton Manning, Steve Young, Kurt Warner and Drew Brees as the only QBs to open the season with four straight 300-yard passing games. ... 49ers Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree had five catches each.___AP NFL website: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Ecco Shoes Uk .
